On The Seasons And The Calendar

Other peoples of Kaordas use various calendars for their own use, but they are paid little heed on our own isle. Many of the islands maintain their own calendars, so that any traveler may find the day or time inexact. That is why it is best to deal cautiously with other peoples, and make bargains in time with one’s own calendar and reckoning. Our own system of the six seasons, with sixty days in each, marks the time expertly. Winter, Planting, Spring, Summer, Harvest, and Fall; so named are our seasons, a system naturally imitated by other nations. Naming the number of years of the current reign of our Blessed Monarch and in relation to the Ascent of Joram the Blade is also only proper and just.
